Does this sound familiar?

"I thought I did everything right. I was so careful. And then I crashed anyway. I just lay there thinking, what is the point?"

"The good days almost make it worse. You feel like yourself again, and then you pay for it. Every single time."

Are you discouraged?
Do you keep crashing, despite all your efforts?
Do you feel like pacing is just too hard?

No matter what the topics of my live sessions are, pacing keeps coming up. Whether you have ME, CFS, fibromyalgia, long-COVID, or another chronic condition, studies consistently show that pacing and not pushing through is the most effective self-management strategy. Imagine working with your body, not against it. Pacing is hard and it is possible.

Have you ever wondered HOW to manage daily activities for best results?

  • How to move safely and effectively?
  • How to use the money metaphor?
  • How to successfully pace cognitive activity?
  • How to optimize your autonomic system?

In this recording, Dr. Stein answers many questions, including:

  • What’s the best way to help yourself pace?
  • If and when the crash occurs, what seem to be the fastest and most sustainable natural ways to recover and process through and out of the cell danger response, to ''calibrate'' so to speak?
  • How does one balance the fine line between the need for effective pacing and avoiding hyper vigilance/focus on symptoms as is warned against in Neuroplasticity Brain Retraining?
  • I am under the impression I'll always have autonomic dysfunction, even with POTS treatment. Does that mean really no 'energy envelope? Or is it treatable?
  • Which one should be worked on first? Mental or physical exhaustion?

The recording is approximately 109 minutes.

  • 5-minute introduction
  • 58-minute presentation
  • 86 minutes of Q&A

This presentation is part of Dr. Stein's Expert Speakers Series. These will be held approximately monthly, and each session will feature a different guest expert on topics of interest to people with complex chronic disease, chronic disease in general, and people interested in living healthier, longer.

All webinars are recorded. When you register, you get indefinite access.

ALL presentations in the Expert Speakers Series are free with a membership to Live! with Dr. Stein.

Here's what people are saying

"Fabulous content. I've been following you for 4 years now, and I'm still learning!

Can't wait for the recording to verify how much of our energy store is used by the brain. You also validated my exhaustion when I try to creatively write. NOW I understand why my body and mind fight me, writing puts me into deficit every time because it consumes so much energy, and my body is protecting me!!! These 2 points alone were mind-blowing for me.

Thanks so much for all you do; you've given me back my quality of life with your practices and webinars. Big love!" - Shelley T.
